Exploring Creative Worlds
Alexis Flint writes her first drafts in the sun—laptop balanced on a backyard lounge chair, a mug of green tea within reach, and fresh air feeding every sentence. She began writing in 2020, when the world slowed just enough for stories to catch her. What poured out were the voices of teenagers she has known as a foster parent, mission-trip volunteer, and shelter advocate—young people navigating hunger, homelessness, and the jagged path beyond foster care.
A former programs director at a Connecticut soup kitchen and homeless shelter, Alexis has spent countless moments listening to those whose needs are simplest yet hardest to meet. Their courage, grief, and humor shape the heart of her debut novel Jason (Book One of The Lost Kids Series), slated for release November 2025.
When she isn’t drafting ten-thousand-word marathons or wrestling a single stubborn paragraph, Alexis is cheering on her two artistic teenagers, trying to tire out her dogs, or brainstorming the characters of The Lost Kids Series. She believes perfection is overrated, honesty is non-negotiable, and stories—told boldly—can build the empathy the world is starving for.
